Tall, lean and headstrong, FBI agent Kilraven lives by his own rules. And one of those rules includes keeping his hands off Jacobsville's resident sweetheart, Winnie Sinclair, no matter the temptation. Winnie is in love with Kilraven, who has some demons to deal with. A murder in Jacobsville brings them together. I really couldn't put this book down. I loved the way Winnie stands up to Kilraven, while she is afraid of him. I was surprised by Winnie's family history and how it was ended in a very good way. I enjoyed this story, and can not wait to start Merciless which is about his half brother Jon. This is well worth downloading. Check it out Ms. Palmer has done it again.Tags : Dangerous (Long, Tall Texans) [Diana Palmer] on Amazon.com. *FREE* shipping on qualifying offers. Re-reading this story line from Diana, great author and a great book! Last book of the series to go, can't wait...
I been reading Diana Palmer books for many years. In the past I always enjoyed them. However this book and her last one lacked so much. I have always been a fan of the LTT series, however I think she is almost at the point of too much connection. I had to research older books just to refresh my memory, and I have read almost all of them. I think a new reader will be very confused. Too many secondary characters that don't have enough of a role in the book to be mentioned. It was over halfway through the book before the two main characters story took shape. I will probably continue to read her books, probably more for loyalty than enjoyment. Maybe the publisher is counting on this. Who knows. I will say this one had one advantage, the heroine was at least 21.
This book made me cry when you read that some animal would kill an innocent child. I love this serious and everyone you meet through this book believe me you will never forget them when you laugh and cry.
I was a bit disappointed in this book because I really like Diana Palmer. The dialog was all over the place and sometimes hard to figure out what the character/characters were talking about. A lot of rehashing events which wasn't necessary and there seemed to be a contest as to which guy would be the most lethal in a fight. I like Diana Palmer though and will look forward to reading another one of her books.
Love, love, love Diana Palmer. I enjoy her different series. Thought I had finished "Long Tall Texans" series. I was WRONG!! So I'm trying to catch up now. So much fun. On to the next read.
This story was filled with violence. While the police, FBI and CIA tried to solve several violent crimes all it took was the love of one woman to get the proof needed.
I gave this 2-stars only because I'm a diehard Palmer fan and I think it's generous. This book and the newest one set in Montana are terrible. I waited and waited for Kilraven's story and boy, I was disappointed! It should have been so much more than it was. I'm tired of the gaming talk (my husband and I play but who cares in a romance book!) and the very weak plot. I thought the story with Cy Parks, who also lost his family, was much better. I was especially disappointed (and this may have been an editing mistake) that long appearing character, Sheriff Hayes Carson, was referred to as Carson Hayes throughout this whole book. I agree with one of the other reviewers that it may be time for DP to retire.
I know what to expect from all of DP's book - the same formula where the hero is a loner and usually sweet until he doesn't get his way and then turns into a huge jerk. And innocent heroines who wouldn't be nearly so innocent or naive in today's times - not that we still don't have virgins but I don't believe they are so unknowing of the world. After reading so many of her books, the formula isn't working anymore. I used to cry because the emotion was so poignant and I was excited by the plotlines of her early books (Soldier of Fortune). I loved the original start of the LTT - Calhoun, Justin and Tyler. I also loved Cy Parks, Micah Steele, Cash Grier (one of my favorites) and all of the Tremaynes. I think Diana should go back and read her own earlier works.
One of the other things that bothered me in this book is that I'm getting a little tired of the heroine having the gift of 'sight'. It's not that I don't believe in the ability but enough already. And having Diana's view of the current state of politics and religion is also getting old. I want to read a good romance/suspense, not get a running dialogue on what's wrong with the world today. Do yourself a favor and don't buy this new. Try it out at half price or from the library first and see what you think.
